Lamidat de Ngaoundéré

Adamaoua

Founded in the 19th century, the Ngaoundéré lamidate is one of the great centres of Fulani traditional power in Adamawa. Its palace, grand mosque and equestrian ceremonies offer a dive into the history of northern Cameroon's lamidates.

Every Friday and during major Muslim festivals, riders in ceremonial dress replay the splendour of the court.
